Aamani Hamilton is currently a senior here at Burke High School. She is native of Charleston, SC and her Birthday is October 16th.

Aamani is a 4 year long flag girl in our Burke High Steppin’ Band. She was first-runner up in 2016-2017 for Miss Burke Pageant and was also on the Yearbook Committee and is currently a “Gorgeous Diamond” (female stepper) in our school’s GDD step team.

After school, Aamani likes to sing and shop during her spare time.

After graduation, Aamani plans to attend Claflin University and double major in African & African American studies and Education.

When asked which person at Burke had the most influence on her, Aamani stated ” Ms. Grant because she pushes me to be the student that I know that I can be and she has helped me in ways others couldn’t.”

Some advice Aamani has for underclassmen is “always turn in your work, stop worrying about others if they are not worried about you,” and “if it’s not beneficial to you, don’t worry about it.”

In 5 years, Aamani sees herself as an African American History teacher at Burke High School.
