Burke’s Nail Biting loss Against St. John’s

Burke’s game against St.John’s took an unexpected turn in the beginning with St. John’s going up 4-0 ending the first half. Going in to the 2nd half of the game, the Bulldogs were determined to come out even stronger. They tied the game up at 4-4 with goals from Hesham Hikal, Deandre Taylor, and Jamison Bennekin. Assists on the goals made from Deandre Taylor (2), Hesham Hikal (1), and Jamison Bennekin (1). Great defensive plays in the second half as well made by Javier Gathers, Malek Singleton, Terrell Wright, and Jah’Zartharin Powell.

The game went into overtime when the score remained 4-4 at the final buzzer. After a scoreless overtime a shootout was put in place. going into the shootout the coaches decided to let the seniors along with one junior take the final shoots. The game was concluded with a final score of 5-4 after St. John’s won the shootout.
