BHS Wins New Tech’s “Best in Network”

BHS English and Government classes at work on their award winning projectBurke’s sophomore English and Government classes’ project, Finding a Voice, was recently awarded New Tech Network’s “Best in Network” award. The graphic novel project done by Ms. Navarrete’s World Literature and Mr. Johnson’s Government classes “exemplifie(d) the goal of successfully combining active exploration, application, authenticity and academic rigor,” according to New Tech.

BHS considers this quite an achievement, considering New Tech’s project based learning environment was only implemented this 2017-18 school year. “The recognition from NTN demonstrates the dedication and passion of our teachers in promoting academic success for our students,” said Principal Cheryl Swinton. “Likewise, this recognition applies to our students who showed perseverance and motivation in taking ownership of their own learning. Ultimately, the project furthers not only their success, but the success of the community.”

Congratulations, Bulldogs!! Way to BARK!
